40 days and fasting

 Back in 2017 right after my 60 day juice fast, I wrote this: 40 days. It is a Lenten journey. Yet, my Juice journey is not finished. Why the 40 days? Why did Jesus fast for that long in the desert? It takes us that long to lose all of the cravings. It takes that long for our spirits to calm down and lose the noise. It is such a short time to spend to reap those benefits. The spiritual side of the fast is not something that is often talked about. When I did a 100 days of fasting, it was frustrating after 60 days. The body really started to defend the weight. I made some mistakes during the time from 60 to 100 days. Ghost pepper sauces without food in the stomach on a juice fast will lay you over in horrendous pain. Been there, done that. The clarity of purpose that comes with the extended fast is so subtle that most miss that it happened. It is the same softness of sound that leaf makes when falling, it touches upon the river. Day 2 - 2022

 Day 2 I had forgotten what it is like to drink so much juice and water. My normal juice is 32 oz with 32 oz of water right behind it. Do that 3x a day and your sanitary outlet is going to be well used. Chuckle. now I have to wait for the vivid dreams that come with the high nutrition. I had forgotten how much energy comes with the juicing as well. Then again, I was already transitioning to a much heavier plant based diet over the past 3-4 months. In some ways, it feels like my body is remembering and wants to get there now!!! I used to weigh myself to see how much I lost. Not this time. My measure will be fitting back into clothes that I have. That will be steady inspiration.
