I used to be part of the Joe Cross online community. Loads of great information in that area. Fast forward 6 years and the original community is gone! Lots of posts, lots of advice, gone! Not even migrated. Where did it go? Facebook. No more threads for readers to read. No long term journeys anymore. So, it is time to reboot that idea. This time on an independent platform.
Down to Basics:
Favorite drink recipes
Modified mean green
6-9 kale leaves
1 lemon
2 inches of ginger
4 celery stalks
2 carrots
1 green pepper
1-2 apples (depends on how long I have gone. Start? 2 After 10 days? 1.

Rare that I do this one. Rather sweet and stops the weight loss for me.

Makes 2 - 4 servings

Advice for newbies
Drink more water than you think you need. Double is good. Sloshing the eyeballs is good.
Ease into a juice fast.
Week 1: replace 1 meal with a veggie juice
Week 2: replace 2 meals with a veggie juice
Week 3: replace all meals with a veggie juice
Don't go over 60 days on 1 juice fast. You can always do another fast later. Nutritionists told me no more than 100, but 60 was the recommended. Never the why. I did both. I can tell you the why very easily. Transitioning from 60 was MUCH easier than 100 days. Much less pain in the stomach. Also, the rate of weight loss after 60 days slows down.
Is there an alternative plan? Sure. Friend of mine does 2 weeks of juicing, 1 week of eating. Wash, rinse and repeat many times. He got under 170 lbs from 300 lbs in less than a year. Healthy as can be.
What do I recommend?
Do your best to get to 40 or more days. I cannot make anybody understand it until they do it. There is a quiet in the mental side that comes with doing it for 40 days. For me, I woke up on the 40th day and was stunned by how clear my mental process was.
Juice too bitter? Add an extra apple. You will get to the point where 2 apples in your juice is too sweet.
How do I know that? It happened to me. Multiple times.
Health results from when I did the 100 days?
Dropped about 86 lbs and my blood pressure with NO MEDS went 90/60. Oh, my knee pain went away as did my shoulder pain that I didn't know was there until the knees stopped hurting. Boy, did I notice the side effect of not having juices after I transitioned. Should have kept 2 a day and eat a reasonable meal as a scheduled, but I didn't. Oh, my sleep schedule went from needing more than 8 hours to needing only 4 hours. Go figure.
Fast forward to now. Gained weight during the pandemic. Not used to being boxed up all the time. Will be testing for a martial art black belt in the next 6 months. Need to lose the weight and get my fitness back up. So, back to what works for me. For those who say they can't? Add the yet to the end. If you break one day and eat, get back it to it the next day and forgive yourself. This is a marathon, NOT a sprint.
